Deputy PM Khiem holds talks with Japanese FM

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem held talks with Japanese Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura on the sidelines of the Japan-Mekong River Foreign Ministers Meeting held in Tokyo, Japan on January 16.

The Japanese FM said that Japan has highly valued Vietnamese State President Nguyen Minh Triet’s recent official visit to Japan which has contributed to developing bilateral ties toward a strategic partnership. He expressed his hope that Vietnam-Japan relations will act as a bridge and help to develop the relationship between Japan and other countries in the Mekong River basin.

 

For his part, Deputy PM Khiem reaffirmed that President Triet’s recent visit to Japan has brought Vietnam-Japan relations to a new height, pledging that the Vietnamese delegation will do its best to contribute to the success of the two-day meeting.  (VOV)
