National Emblem
The national emblem of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam was approved by its National Assembly at the 5th session of its first Legislature in September, 1955.

The national emblem is circular in shape; in the middle of a red background is a yellow star symbolizing the revolutionary history of the nation, surrounded by rice ears symbolizing agriculture, below is half a cogwheel symbolizing industry and the inscription “Socialist Republic of Vietnam”.
